Upstate Cerebral Palsy offers Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) and Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) as options to support persons with developmental disabilities. For persons requiring mental health supports, Upstate Cerebral Palsy offers a variety of options including: community residences (CR’s), treatment apartments, and supported housing. Individuals with disabilities unable to live on their own, can find a home-like environment at Upstate Cerebral Palsy. Our homes are located throughout the Mohawk Valley and provide a caring atmosphere that celebrates everyone living in the home and respects their uniqueness from home décor to favorite foods.

Staff in residential services focus their attention on developing service plans that meet the needs of the people we support, but more importantly helping them to achieve their dreams. Assistance is provided to help people live as independently as possible and enhance skills necessary to perform daily activities. This includes personal grooming, household chores, cooking, communication skills and social skills.

Recreational opportunities, both in the home and the community are encouraged. The emphasis is on helping people discover their interests and preferences, therefore, assisting them to develop a life based on their desires.
