
Leslie Stephens and Terry Stroude were recently recognized as Employees of the Year at the Upstate Cerebral Palsy Annual Meeting, which took place at the Radisson Hotel in Utica on Thursday, May 22, 2008. The Employee of the Year Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond the typical responsibilities associated with their positions and who exemplify the agency values of excellence, passion, integrity, caring and respect all year long.
Leslie Stephens joined the staff in 1991 as a habilitation specialist at Schnoonmaker Day Program and currently works as a Family Support Liaison in the Promise Program for children with autism. Highly committed to her work and generous of her time, Leslie organizes and participates in several activities outside regular work hours. Leslie's desire to enjoy life moves her to reach out and help families in need. Leslie exemplifies the values of Upstate Cerebral Palsy, always promoting the empowerment of families.
Terry Stroude began working at the Walsh Dental Clinic in April of 1997, and has grown to become a vital part of everyday dental operations. Terry treats each community member, resident, co-worker and staff member with dignity and respect. Without hesitation or resistance, Terry goes above and beyond to ensure that every individual's dental needs are satisfied. Terry embodies the "heart and soul" of the clinic, finding unique ways to comfort each individual in the dental chair as well as in the waiting room.
